Neecha Bhanga Raja Yoga (NBRY)
Neecha Bhanga means cancellation of debilitation. A planet in debilitation in horoscope can create lot of adverse effects to the native. But in some circumstances the debilitation of the planet gets cancelled and the said planet gives rajayoga to the native. The cancellation of debilitation can also happen because of other planet. The effect of the yoga can arise in the periods of the debilitated planet and the planet who cancels this debilitation. We cannot ignore the power of this yoga. It can make a unknown person to a most sought after person. A jobless person can give jobs to 1000’s of people. It is very important to carefully analyze this yoga for better prediction. We can see NBRY in the horoscopes of many great personalities in different fields like sports, politics, entrepreneurs etc.
NBRY is quite different from normal Raja yoga. A strong Rajayoga can give smooth life to the native. But it is not the case with NBRY. In NBRY, the native will go through lot of hardships. But he will learn from the experiences from the sufferings. He will utilize those learnings in his life and achieve his goals. Other Rajayogas are the result of good karma from the past life, so the native will enjoy the fruits without much effort, whereas in NBRY, the person will create his destiny by his strong willpower and effort. But he has to sacrifice lot of things to achieve the goal. For example, if Saturn is getting neecha bhanga, then the native may have to do hard work beyond his limits to achieve something. He will go through lot failures, sufferings, humiliation etc. But the passion will drive him to give another try. So whenever he fails, he will try one more time. After several attempts, success will follow him. Same way If Jupiter is getting neecha bhanga, then the native has to do lot of good deeds to achieve his goals.
How Debilitation gets cancelled?
There are many ways in which a debilitation of planet gets cancelled. Lot of books advocate many ways of cancellation. But if we take all the combinations, practically all the debilitation gets cancelled. So it needs careful observation. Here are some of the rules of cancellation.
1. The debilitated planet is conjunct with exalted planet.
Ex. Sun and Saturn are in Aries or Libra.
2.When a planet is debilitated in D-1 (Rasi chart), but the same planet is exalted in Navamsa (D-9) chart.
Ex. Sun is debilitated in Libra in D-1 and it is posited Aries in Navamsa.

3.The dispositor of the debilitated planet (lord of the sign where the debilitated planet is posited), is in a Kendra position from the Lagna or from the Moon.
Ex: If Sun is in Libra and Venus is in kendra.
4.The debilitated planet is associated with or aspected by its lord.
5.Parivartana yoga between the debilitated planet and its lord (dispositor).
6.Two debilitated planets aspect each other. In this case the debilitation effect of both the planets gets cancelled.
7.The lord of the sign in which that debilitated planet gets exalted, is in kendra position from the Lagna or the Moon.
Ex. If Sun is in Libra and the lord Aries (Sun’s exaltation house) Mars is in Kendra
A strong NBRY can take the native to very big heights. Scriptures say that the person will become an emperor. In today’s scenario, there are many ways a person can live like a king in his own way. He will move to the top position by own effort and hardwork. He will be very wealthy, lives luxurious life etc.
