Hair is mainly made of protein. So there should be enough supply of protein for the strong and healthy hair. When protein becomes insufficient, hairs would become dry and weak and eventually start falling.
Iron and Zinc
Iron and Zinc are necessary minerals for follicle which helps to grow hair. The deficiency of these minerals can cause anaemia.
Vitamin C, A and D are very important for hair growth. The itchy scalp is the reason for deficiency of Vitamin A. Sunlight is the rich source of Vitamin D. Vitamin C deficiency can cause breakdown of collagen, which lead to dry splitting hair and other body disorders.

Legumes or Whole beans – Legumes are excellent source of proteins. These are best alternative for meat. The most common legumes are chickpeas, green peas, kidney beans, soybeans etc. They also contain fiber, iron, vitamin B, C and Biotin. It is said that, eating beans with rice will give complete source of protein to the body.
Dairy Products – Dairy products such as milk, curd, cheese are good source of protein. Milk from hybridized cows may not have rich proteins. However, milk from organic sources like cows, goat contain higher source of proteins.
Nuts – Nuts like Cashew nuts, Almonds, Pista, peanuts contain higher amount of protein, fiber, iron and Vitamin E. These proteins are good for bone tissues and hair growth.
